After serving many years at Orange County Fire Station #31, this rig served several other OCFA fire stations. The rig was sold at auction and purchased by two Crown Firecoach Enthusiasts member and was stored outside for a spell. (What's a spell?)
Eventually E-31 was donated to the California Fire Museum and underwent a complete restormation by Mike McDonald of Western Heavy Equipment Rentals. The overhaul included a complete repainting, new tires and aluminum rims, a Q-siren, and the running gear and motor were updated.
Note: When in service E-31 was exchanged with the E-22 Crown Firecoach due to the high mileage on E-22 while E-31 was low on mileage.
